Travis Thornberry returned to the Chaminade Univesity Athletics department as the Compliance Director in February 2025 to oversee eligibility guidelines for CUH student-athletes and filing reports to the NCAA and Pacific West Conference. Thornberry was previously at Chaminade in the same role for two years until departing in 2015.

Between stints at Chaminade, he was the Director of Compliance at the University of Alaska Anchorage.

Before arriving in his first go-through at Chaminade, Thornberry was hired as the Compliance Coordinator at Arkansas State in June 2012, then was named ASU's Interim Compliance Director shortly thereafter. After four months as the interim director, he was promoted to a new position, Assistant Director of Compliance.

Prior to Arkansas State, Thornberry was the Compliance Coordinator at Wofford (S.C.) College during the 2011-12 academic year.

The Traskwood, Arkansas, native received both his Bachelor's and Master's degrees at Arkansas-Little Rock, where he was also an intern with its athletics compliance office.

Thornberry and his wife, Nickel, live in Honolulu.
