Rachel A. Coel, MD, PhD, FAAP, CAQSM is the Medical Director and Staff Physician with The Queen’s Medical Center. She is board certified in pediatrics and as a sports medicine sub-specialist. She specializes in concussions, fracture care, and prevention and treatment of all sports injuries. Other than being a team physician for Chaminade, Dr. Coel is also a team physician for Hawai'i Pacific University, Roosevelt High School, Hawai'i Baptist Academy, and Spike and Serve Volleyball Club. She is also a Clinical Assistant Professor at University of Hawai'i-Manoa John A. Burns School of Medicine.
Before working at Queen’s, Dr. Coel was a Co-Medical Director of the sports medicine program at the Children’s Hospital Colorado. She was the team physician for the University of Denver Pioneers and Colorado high schools. She was the recipient of the Professional Research Consultants Patient Perception 5-Star Award for National Excellence in Healthcare.
