Senior forward Randi Fontes was named the Pacific West Conference Hawai‘i Pod Player of the Week after scoring the game-winning goal in the 68th minute to complete a 2-1 come-from-behind win over HPU in Saturday’s opener. It was the senior’s ninth career goal, putting her two behind Twyla Hamasaki for second all-time. The ’Swords’ win over the Sharks was their first since September 2008, snapping a 24-game winless streak to their rivals.
