Chaminade WVB: Swords Impressive in 3-1 Win over Academy of Art

Kauliakamoa leads CUH with 14 kills and 10 digs

Honolulu, HI- The Lady Swords responded from a tough game one loss to defeat the Urban Knights of The Academy of Art in four games, 24-26, 25-21, 25-19, 25-16.

 

Senior Trina Kauliakamoa led the way with 14 kills and 10 digs on the evening.  Tanya Alvino led the offense with 31 assists, while Chauntelle Maduli anchored the defense with 10 digs.    

 

The Swords managed to get offense from different players, as three Swords had double-digit kills.  Pisila Tukia (11 kills) and Vanja Radanovic led Chaminade with 4 solo blocks each.  Samantha Miller added 12 kills in the victory.   

 

Both teams were stout at the net, with team blocks even at 12-12. 

 

Offensively, Chaminade out-hit AAU .191 to .169 on the match.  The Urban Knights led in digs, 49 to 44. 

 

Academy of Art was led by Dan Yang with 18 kills.  

 

With the win, Chaminade moves to 10-13 on the year.  With the loss, AAU moves to 15-7.

 

The Lady Swords are back at home on October 29th to face BYU-Hawaii at 7:30 PM HT.  First serve will follow the end of the HPU/Academy of Art matchup, which starts at 5:30 PM HT in McCabe Gym.  Both matches will be televised by OC 16.
