Honolulu, HI- The Seasiders of BYU-Hawaii have the best overall record in the Pac West conference. They also are tied for the conference lead at 3-1 in Pac West play. With those facts in mind, the Lady Swords have plenty to take away from this Pac West battle this afternoon at St. Louis Field.
The Swords fought all afternoon against the Pac West leaders, surrendering the lone score in the 17th minute to Britt Edman of the Seasiders. BYU-Hawaii out-shot the Silverswords in the first half 9-4.
The second half saw back and forth action as CUH tried to find an equalizer and the Seasiders looked for a goal to put the game away. Neither team found what they were looking for, as the second half was played to a draw and the scoreboard remained unchanged. The final forty-five minutes saw four shots from both sides and ended in the 1-0 BYU-Hawaii victory.
The Swords were led by standout freshman Jamie Lindstrom with 3 shots on the afternoon.
Marissa Minor made 5 saves in goal for CUH. Scottie Prince made 3 saves for the Seasiders.
With the loss, the Lady Swords fall to 1-6. BYU-Hawaii moves to 7-3 overall. Chaminade is back in action against UH-Hilo on October 8th. Game time is set for 5:30 PM HT in Hilo.
