Honolulu, HI- The Swords fell to Dixie State 2-0 today in a very competitive game on a sunny Saturday afternoon at St. Louis Field.
Despite 12 shots from Dixie State in the opening 45 minutes, the Swords defense held and the match went into the break tied 0-0.
Dixie State's Erin Beeston broke the tie in the 55th minute off an assist by Shannon Larsen. Beeston added another in the 88th minute for the 2-0 final.
Ona Byers had the lone shot on goal for Chaminade.
Marissa Minor was outstanding in goal for CUH. The sophomore from Captain Cook, HI made 17 saves, keeping the game close. Dixie out-shot Chaminade 30-3.
With the loss, the Lady Swords fall to 1-13. Dixie State moves to 11-5-1 overall. Chaminade is back in action against Grand Canyon on November 3rd. Game time is set for 10:00 AM HT at St. Louis Field.
