St. George, UT- Hoping to make it a second consecutive road win, the Lady Swords fell short this evening against Dixie State, 20-25, 17-25, 19-25. Trina Kauliakamoa led for the Swords, with a .323 hitting percentage on 12 kills. No other Sword had more than five kills on the match.
Dixie State won a competitive first game, that saw Dixie leading 16-15 before pulling away to win game one, 25-20. Game two was all Dixie as they got out to an early 6-0 lead and did not look back. The Swords responded in the third game, taking a 16-10 lead on a kill by senior outside hitter, Trina Kauliakamoa. Dixie State answered, tying the game at 18-18 and won seven of the last eight points for the three game sweep.
Tanya Alvino added 24 assists for Chaminade in defeat.
Katie Luna led Dixie State with 13 kills. CUH was out-dug 56-38 on the match.
Chauntelle Maduli and Trina Kauliakamoa led the Swords in digs with 8 each.
With the loss, Chaminade moves to 8-7 on the year. Dixie State improves to 4-7. The Swords are back in action on October 1st vs. Dixie State. Game time is set for 7:00 MT.
The Lady Swords return home on October 10th to face Hawaii Pacific. First serve is set for 7PM at McCabe Gym.
