Chaminade Women’s Soccer Scores Win vs. HPU 2-1

Faye puts back rebound with 40 seconds left in OT

Kaneohe, HI- Chaminade scored it’s first victory in women’s soccer in dramatic fashion as Marissa Faye’s rebound goal with 40 seconds left in OT secured a 2-1 victory for the Swords. The game started out 1-0 Chaminade as Kuuelani Agbayani opened up the scoring in the first half for the Swords. The Swords took the one goal lead into the break. Nicole Bleidistel answered for HPU in the 62nd minute to knot the score at 1-1. The match would stay that way through the end of regulation with the Swords down a player due to cautions. With only forty seconds left in overtime, the Swords ended thoughts of a draw as Marissa Faye put back a rebound for a goal and a 2-1 victory. Sato made four saves for the Sea Warriors, while Marissa Minor had 11 saves for CUH. Hawaii Pacific falls to 1-3 on the year, while Chaminade improves to 1-1.
