CUH WSOC: Swords Battle Conference Leader BYU-Hawaii, Fall 2-0

Senior GK Minor stops 13 stops in final home match

Honolulu, HI- Chaminade took on the Pac West conference leaders, the BYU-Hawaii Seasiders today in a Pac West conference matchup at St. Louis Field. The Swords fell by a score of 2-0.      
 
The Swords gave BYU-Hawaii more than they bargained for and was down only 1-0 into the 83rd minute. In the 81st minute, Sword freshman Tiffany Nakata (Kailua, HI/Kailua HS) had the best CUH scoring chance, forcing Seasider goalie Amanda Oswald into one of her two second half saves. 
 
Chaminade senior goalkeeper Marissa Minor, (Captain Cook, HI/Konawaena HS) stopped thirteen Seasider shots on goal, displaying the skills that have made her one of the best goalies in the Pac West over her four year career.   
 
CUH was out-shot 22-2 on the match. Freshman Kristy Iwahashi (Pearl City, HI/Pearl City HS) and Tiffany Nakata (Kailua, HI/Kailua HS) each had one shot on goal for the Swords. 
 
BYU-Hawaii's Kim Micheletti (18th minute) and Nicole Slater (83rd minute) had the Seasider goals. 
 
With the loss, the Swords move to 2-9 overall. BYU-Hawaii improves to 12-0-2. Chaminade is back in action October 27th at Hawaii Pacific. Game time is set for 3 PM HT.
