HONOLULU, HI- The Swords Volleyball team defeated Dominican in four sets for the second time in four days by a score of 25-22, 27-29, 25-14 and 25-19 tonight at McCabe Gym.
Senior
Pisila Tukia (Tempe, AZ/Tempe) starred tonight for Chaminade. Tukia had 12 kills to go along with 2.5 blocks while hitting .550 for the night. Sophomore
Kylee Pedro (Kailua, HI/Mid-Pacific) added 11 kills on a .400 hitting percentage, while junior
Allie Board (Redwood City, CA/Notre Dame) contributed 9 kills to the winning effort.
After losing a tough second set to the Penguins 27-29, the Swords rebounded in the third set, dominating Dominican 25-14 while hitting a blazing .414 for the set.
Senior setter
Tanya Alvino (Brentwood, CA/Liberty) led the offense with 46 assists and 15 digs in the win.
The Swords out-hit the Penguins .267 to .138. Chaminade won at the net, notching 10 clocks to DUC's 4. CUH also won the dig battle 69-59.
Dominican was led by Seluia Falealili with 15 kills.
With the loss, Chaminade moves to 6-12, 3-8 in the PWC. Dominican moves to 3-22, 0-13 in the PWC. The Swords look to get another win as they face NDNU on Saturday, October 30th at 7:00 PM HT at McCabe Gym.
