CUH WS: Chaminade on Two Game Win Streak, Defeats Academy of Art 1-0

Freshman Tiffany Nakata scores game winner for Swords

Honolulu, HI- Chaminade Women's Soccer is on a two-game win streak after securing its second conference win today, defeating the Urban Knights of Academy of Art this afternoon at St. Louis Field by a score of 1-0.

The lone goal and game-winner for the match came in the fiftieth minute as freshman Tiffany Nakata (Kailua, HI/Kailua HS) scored off a pass from fellow freshman Amber Bonifacio (Ewa Beach, HI/Moanalua HS).

The game was back and forth after that, as both teams created chances, but did not convert. A key stop from senior goalkeeper Marissa Minor (Captain Cook, HI/Konawaena HS) helped seal the victory. Minor finished with 7 stops on the match.

Academy of Art continued to push offensively late in the match, managing 7 shots on goal.

The Swords were out-shot 13-9 on the match. Both Nakata and Bonifacio had three shots on goal for CUH.

The victory is Chaminade's second in a row and moves the Swords to 2-2 in the conference, tied for fifth.

With the win, the Swords move to 2-4 overall. Academy of Art falls to 1-8-1. Chaminade is back in action at home on October 7th vs. UH Hilo. Game time is set for 12:30 PM HT on St. Louis Field.
