CUH WSOC: Urban Knights Get the Best of Swords 4-1

SAN FRANCISCO, CA- The Swords answered after giving up an early goal against the Urban Knights of Academy of Art, but it wasn't enough, falling 4-1 this afternoon to Academy of Art in Pac West Conference action.          
 
The Urban Knights jumped out to an early lead with a goal in the 7th minute by Margaret Thorolfsdottir Chaminade responded quickly as freshman Alyssa Nagai (Waipio, HI/Pearl City) got CUH on the board in the 16th minute to knot the score at 1-1.  The goal marks the second in as many games for the freshman.
 
The first half was very competitive as the shot count indicated.  Shots were nearly even in the opening half, with AAU owning a 5-4 advantage.
 
Academy of Art blew open a close game starting twelve minutes into the second half, scoring in the 57th, 63rd and 65th minutes to lead 4-1.  The match finished with a 4-1 score. 
 
Freshman Kainoa Makua (Kailua, HI/Kalaheo) stopped 5 shots for CUH.  The Swords were out-shot 17-8 on the match.  
 
With the loss, the Swords move to 1-8, 1-4 in conference.  Academy of Art improves to 1-3, 3-5.  Chaminade is back in action on October 5th at HPU (Atherton Field).  Match time is set for 12:30 PM PT.
