CUH WSB: Lady Swords Split with Antelopes of Grand Canyon University

Waipahu, HI - The Chaminade Lady Swords took on the Antelopes of Grand Canyon University and split them on March 2nd. Losing the first game 3 runs to 0 and bouncing back in the second game for the win, beating the 'Lopes 5 runs to 4.
GAME # 1
GCU opened up the game and scored 3 quick runs and never looked back. The Lady Swords battled throughout the game. However, the Lady Swords only managed 4 hits on 25 plate appearances.
The 2 of the 4 hits were recorded by Shalin “Anuhea” Yamaguchi and the other two hits were by, Skye Virtudes and Kori Berinobis.
Kelly Korras pitched all 7 innings and faced 32 batters, giving up 10 hits and 3 earned runs. She falls to 1 and 5 on the year.

Game # 2
The Lady Swords came out and scored the first run of the game and never looked back. After 1 inning of play, they led 1 to 0 and despite their defense giving up 4 runs, Chaminade was able to tack on 4 more runs to their 1 and beat Grand Canyon University for the first time in a couple of seasons in PacWest play.
Kasy'e Lalau pitched all 7 innings and gave up 11 hits, 4 earned runs and struck out 3 in her win against the Antelopes. She improves to 2 and 1 on the year.

The Lady Swords produced 6 hits, Shalin “Anuhea” Yamaguchi recorded 2 hits of her own. Samantha Ford got 1 hit, Theresa Capllonch also hit 1 and Tia Perreira rounded out the Swords with a hit of her own. Those six hits were enough, and the Lady Swords defeated the Antelopes of Grand Canyon University.
CUH is back in action on March 2nd at Central Oahu Regonal Park. They face Notre Dame de Namur University in a double-header match up, first pitch is set for 4:30PM Hawai'i Standard Time. With the split against Grand Canyon University, the Lady Swords record stands at 5-9 and 1-3 in the Pacific West Conference.
