CUH WSOC: Chaminade Loses Season Opener to Holy Names 3-1

Kainoa Makua stops 2 shots in debut for Swords

HONOLULU, HI- Chaminade took on the Hawks of Holy Names today in the season opener at St. Louis Field and fell 3-1.  
 
Chaminade battled throughout the first half, and trailed at the break 2-0. Silversword pressure led to a Holy Names error and Chaminade got on the board and trailed 2-1 in the 56th minute of the match.
 
Four minutes later, Holy Names answered with a goal to go up 3-1 and preserve the victory.  Negine Mansour, Brittanie Perez and Selina Woodham scored for the Hawks.
 
Freshman forward Alyssa Nagai (Waipio, HI/Pearl City) led the way with two shots on goal for the Swords. 
 
Freshman Kainoa Makua (Kailua, HI/Kalaheo) stopped 2 shots for CUH. 
 
The Swords were out-shot 8-6.  
 
With the loss, the Swords move to 0-1. Holy Names improves to 1-2. Chaminade is back in action at home on September 4th. The Swords face University of Mary at 10 AM HT. The game is set for 1:00 PM HT.
