Box Score SAN FRANCISCO, CA- Chaminade went down to Academy of Art tonight in three sets at the Kezar Pavilion in the final match of a five-match road trip. The loss moves Chaminade to 3-5 in the conference and is the Urban Knights first conference win of the year.
The Swords battled Academy tough in the first set, falling 25-21 in the set after getting to within two points at 23-21. Chaminade struggled in the second set, hitting .034 and falling 25-11. CUH was within six points at 15-9, but Academy of Art went on a 10-2 run to win the set. The Urban Knights took set three 25-18 to earn the sweep. Freshman
Kim Spring (Bern, Switzerland/ Feusi Bildungszentrum and Feusi Sportschule) led the way with 10 kills, while setter
Valentina Bevilacqua (Vacallo, Switzerland/Scuola Cantonale di Commercio Bellinzona) added 14 assists for the Swords.
Academy of Art out-dug CUH 41-28 and won the hitting percentage battle over the Swords .326 to .115.

Whitney Viveiros (Hilo, HI/Kamehameha-Kapalama) led Chaminade with 8 digs while junior
Matia Spencer (Dayton, NV/Dayton) added 5 kills on 9 attempts in defeat.
Coach Kabalis talked about the match and the trip: “I knew going into the match that it would be the most difficult because it was the last game of our ten day road trip. We were far from what we know we can accomplish. Fatigue and being on the road is not going to be an excuse for why we didn't execute, so we will regroup and get ready for our three-game week ahead.”
Caitlin Boring led the way for Academy of Art with 14 kills.
The Swords move to 6-10 (3-5 PWC) with the loss. Academy of Art improves to 4-11 (1-5 PWC). Chaminade returns home to face Point Loma Nazarene on October 10
th in McCabe Gym. First serve is set for 7:00 PM HT.
