CUH WSOC: Silverswords Lose to Urban Knights of Academy of Art 2-0

Hamasaki takes four shots for Swords

Box Score HONOLULU, HI- CUH lost to the Urban Knights of Academy of Art 2-0 in a PacWest Conference matchup this afternoon on St. Louis Field.
 
ARTU got on the board in the 12th minute with a goal by Beth Barker to lead 1-0. A second Urban Knights goal, this one by Giovanni Plater made the score 2-0 Academy of Art in the 34th minute.  CUH trailed 2-0 at the break.  The Swords were outshot 5-0 in the first half. 
 
CUH showed flashes on offense in the second half with Jill Hara (Kaneohe, HI/Castle) nearly cutting the lead in half midway through the second half, hitting the crossbar from 20+ yards out.
 
Freshman Twyla Hamasaki (Honolulu, HI/Iolani) was a threat all afternoon for Chaminade, creating several great scoring opportunities.  Hamasaki led CUH with four shots.
 
Freshman goalkeeper Lauren Ishii (Mililani, HI/Mililani) made three saves on the match for CUH.
 
The Swords were out-shot 7-5 on the match.  
 
With the loss, the Swords fall to 0-15, 0-13 PWC.  Academy of Art moves to 5-11, 3-9 PWC on the year.  Chaminade is back in action at home against BYU-Hawaii on November 3rd.  The match is set for 3:30 PM HT. It is the final contest of the year for CUH.
