CUH WSOC: Chaminade Falls in Match at Dixie State 5-0

Ishii makes 17 saves in defeat

Box Score ST. GEORGE, UT- In the first road match of a four match road swing, Chaminade lost a PacWest Conference matchup to the Red Storm of Dixie State by a score of 5-0
 
Dixie State got the scoring going early as Jen Mason scored in the second minute and again in the 18th minute to make it an early 2-0 Red Storm lead.  The two goals were Mason's 11th and 12th of the season. Chaminade kept the score at 2-0 at halftime, despite being outshot 24-2 in the opening half by the Red Storm.
 
Dixie State's Mason earned a hat trick, tallying her third goal in the 64th minute.  The Red Storm added goals in the 71st and 75th minute to win 5-0. 
 
Chaminade freshman goalkeeper Lauren Ishii (Mililani, HI/Mililani) stopped 17 shots in goal.  Freshman Twyla Hamasaki (Honolulu, HI/Iolani) led the way offensively with two shots on the contest.  Dixie out-shot the Swords 38-3 on the match. 
 
Coach Rowe talked about the loss: "Our first road game was a learning experience for all.  We have to be tough enough to play and compete away as well as at home. We must use this as a tool to learn so we can move on and get ready to compete on Monday."

With the defeat, Chaminade moves to (0-8, 0-6 PWC). Dixie State moves to (6-3-2, 6-1 PWC).  Chaminade is set to head to Cal Baptist on October 8th at the CBU Soccer Field.  Kickoff is set for 3:30 PM PT.
