CUH WVB: Swords Downed by Sonoma State in Three Sets

Box Score HONOLULU, HI- Chaminade were defeated by the Seawolves of Sonoma State 15-25, 20-25 and 24-26 on the third day of the 2012 Outrigger Hotels and Resorts Invitational this morning in McCabe Gym.

The Seawolves were led by Madelyn Densberger and Allyson Sather with 12 kills.

Coach Kahala Kabalis commented after the match: “We had to make some adjustments in our lineup and gave some other people an opportunity to play. Matia Spencer came up big for us on the outside, pounding seven kills on a great hitting percentage. I think this was a good test for us.  We had to work through fatigue from the previous two evenings of intense matches.  I asked the players to get a few hours rest, in hopes for an exciting match this evening.”

The Swords move to 1-2 (0-0 PWC) with the loss. Sonoma State improves to 2-1. Chaminade is back in action on Saturday evening as the Swords take on Fresno Pacific.  First serve is set for 7:00 PM HT.
