CUH WSOC: Swords Fall to BYU-Hawaii 3-0

Ishii stops 8 shots for CUH

Box Score LAIE, HI- The Swords took on a tough BYU-Hawaii soccer team and fell 3-0 on the BYU-Hawaii Soccer Field to the 'Siders. 
 
The Seasiders took control midway through the first half, as Abbie Fronk socred goals in the 21st and 25th minutes to give BYU-Hawaii a 2-0 halftime lead.  Fronk tallied five shots to lead all players on the match.  A 'Siders goal in the 56th minute concluded the scoring and insured a 3-0 BYU-Hawaii win. 
 
Freshman Lauren Ishii (Mililani, HI/Mililani) stopped 8 shots for CUH.  The Swords were out-shot 19-1 on the match.  Freshman defender Keelani Duffey (Couer d'alene, ID /Lakeland) tallied the lone shot for the Swords.
 
Coach Rowe commented after the match, “We got burnt out in the first half trying to keep up with BYU's pace.  They are going to be one of the top teams in the conference.  We settled down in the second half and we definitely took a step forward as a team.  We are doing a better job playing together.”
 
With the loss, the Swords fall to 0-3, 0-1 PWC.  BYU-Hawaii moves to 3-1, 1-0 PWC on the year.  Chaminade is back in action against Hawaii-Hilo on September 17th at the St. Louis Soccer Field.  The match is set for 12:30 PM HT.
