CUH WSOC: Chaminade Falls to HPU 3-0

Ishii stops 13 shots for Swords

Box Score KANEOHE, HI- Chaminade faced Hawaii Pacific in a road conference matchup and fell by a score of 3-0.

Chaminade fell behind 2-0 in the opening half as the Sea Warriors found the back of the net twice in similar fashion.  Both HPU goals were the result of set plays (corner kicks) in the opening forty-five minutes.  Andrea Aguirre tallied both scores for the Sea Warriors on the first half.

HPU managed only one goal in the second half and won the game 3-0.
Freshman goalkeeper Lauren Ishii (Mililani, HI/Mililani) helped keep Chaminade close, stopping 13 shots for the Silverswords.

The Swords were out-shot 24-1 on the match.

Coach Rowe said: “Not happy with the result, but as far as progress, much better.  We measure our success based on the little things and not the wins and losses right now.  We want to win, but with such a young team we have to fine tune the little things in order to play better. We are starting to do that.”

With the loss, the Swords fall to 0-5, 0-3 PWC.  Hawaii Pacific moves to 3-4, 2-1 PWC on the year.  Chaminade is back in action at home against NDNU on September 27th. The match is set for 12:30 PM HT on St. Louis Field.
