CUH WSOC: Silverswords Defeated by Notre Dame De Namur 5-1

Box Score HONOLULU, HI- CUH battled the Argonauts of Notre Dame de Namur in PacWest Conference action on St. Louis Field and fell 5-1.
 
CUH was close early on as the score was knotted at 0-0 into the 23rd minute. An Argo goal by Massiel Castellanos off an assist by Alexis Tershay gave NDNU a 1-0 lead midway through the half.  NDNU out-shot Chaminade 11-3 in the opening forty-five minutes and led 1-0 at halftime. 
 
The Swords tied the contest at 1-1 in the 50th minute as freshman Kristen Fuginaga (Mililani, HI / Mililani) scored off a well-timed pass from freshman Twyla Hamasaki (Honolulu, HI/Iolani).  Fifteen minutes later, NDNU responded as Castellanos tallied her second goal of the day for a 2-1 Argo lead.  Notre Dame de Namur continued on a scoring binge late in the contest, adding goals in the 76th, 78th and 81st minutes to make the final score a lopsided 5-1.
 
Freshman goalkeeper Lauren Ishii (Mililani, HI/Mililani) helped keep Chaminade close until late in the contest, stopping 10 shots for the Silverswords. 
 
The Swords were out-shot 28-7 on the match.  
 
With the loss, the Swords fall to 0-6, 0-4 PWC.  NDNU moves to 3-5-1, 2-2-1 PWC on the year.  Chaminade is back in action at home against Fresno Pacific on September 29th. The match is set for 3:30 PM HT on St. Louis Field.
