CUH WVB: Chaminade Impressive in Four Set Win over St. Martin’s

Spring leads with 20 kills, 10 digs

Box Score HONOLULU, HI- The Silverswords finished the weekend off with a win over the Saints of St. Martin's tonight in McCabe Gym in four sets (25-20, 22-25, 25-17, 25-10).
 
The Swords had a balanced, sharp offensive attack in the win. Freshman outside hitter Kim Spring (Bern, Switzerland/ Feusi Bildungszentrum and Feusi Sportschule) again led the Swords attack, putting down 20 kills on a .260 hitting percentage.  Spring also added 10 digs on the match.  Senior Whitney Viveiros (Hilo, HI/Kamehameha-Kapalama) had a double-double with 10 kills and 10 digs for CUH, while freshman Reigna Johnson (Chandler, AZ/Hamilton) finished with 9 kills on the match. Junior Crystal Powell (Honolulu HI/Word of Life) was second on the team with 13 kills. 
 
Chaminade was strong offensively; hitting .246 on the match, while holding SMU to .081.   The Swords, after dropping set two, took set three and finished the match off early in set four, going up 10-3 right away. The tenth point was a Brenda Walker (Honolulu, HI/McKinley) service ace that helped put away the Saints. 
 
Walker led Chaminade with 17 digs. The Saints were led by Teilissa Tua with 12 kills.
 
The Swords improve to 3-4 (0-0 PWC) with the win. St. Martin's falls to 0-3. Chaminade is back in action next Wednesday night as the Swords take on Hawaii Pacific in McCabe Gym.  First serve is set for 7:00 PM HT.
