WSOC: Swords fall to Penguins, 1-0

Box Score HONOLULU – The Chaminade women's soccer team returned home for the first time in 23 days, but fell to Dominican University, 1-0, in a Pacific West Conference game Monday at St. Louis Field.
 
The Swords fell to 0-10 overall and 0-6 in the PacWest. The Penguins improved to 6-5-2 and 3-3-1. DUC's Megan Herring earned her sixth win of the year, while Chaminade's Lauren Ishii took the loss, despite a season-high 16 saves.
 
The game was scoreless until the 35th minute when Dominican's Lauren Gollnick captured a loose ball and powered a shot into the net from 25 feet out.
 
The Swords return to action on Thursday when they face Fresno Pacific at St. Louis Field. Kickoff is set for 10 a.m.
