WSOC: Swords Fall to Argos

Box Score HONOLULU – Although it came down as a loss in the record books, it might appear that the Chaminade women's soccer team might be getting closer to that elusive win.

The Silverswords fell to Notre Dame de Namur in a Pacific West Conference Saturday at St. Louis Field, 2-0, dropping the Swords to 0-12 overall and 0-8 in the conference. NDNU improved to 5-8-1 and 3-4-1.

The Argos broke a scoreless tie in the 37th minute with a penalty kick from 15 yards out.

NDNU added an insurance goal three minutes into the second half, but the Swords hung tough, allowing only that goal despite 11 second-half shot attempts by the Argonauts.

Lauren Ishii, the conference leader in saves, added nine more to solidify her lead in that category.

The Swords travel to Laie to face BYU-Hawai'i on Wednesday at 12:30 p.m.
