Box Score LAIE, Hawai'i – For 89 minutes, the Chaminade women's soccer team took every shot their opponent threw at them. But as happened several times this season, a bad stretch proved costly. A one-minute interval was all BYU-Hawai'i needed to pull out a win.
The Silverswords allowed a pair of goals less than a minute apart in the second half in a 2-0 decision, dropping their record to 0-13 on the year, 0-9 in the Pacific West Conference. The Seasiders improved to 5-4-2 and 4-3-1.
Emily Barfus found the back of the net at the 60:40 mark, giving BYUH a 1-nil lead. But less than a minute later, the Seasiders added an insurance goal from Sarah Bodily.
Outside of the minute lapse, the Swords gave the Siders all they could handle.
Lauren Ishii, who entered the contest ranked ninth in the nation in total saves, stopped all six BYUH shots on goal in the first half as CUH pitched a shutout. Ishii ended the day with eight saves.
Chaminade returns to St. Louis Field for their final three matches of the season, beginning Saturday against Academy of Art at 1 p.m.
