Box Score HONOLULU – The Chaminade women's soccer team came into Saturday's Pacific West Conference match against Academy of Art with hope for its first win of 2013. Instead, the Swords were on the short end of a 4-0 loss to the Urban Knights.
The Silverswords fell to 0-14 overall and 0-10 in the PacWest. The Urban Knights improved to 3-10-1 and 2-5-1.
The Urban Knights opened the scoring in the 40
th minute with Hannah Emmett's header off Beth Barker's corner kick.
Art U added an insurance goal in the 53
rd minute when Rea Laudat found the back of the net off a penalty kick from 30 yards out.
Complicating matters further for Chaminade was losing top scorer,
Twyla Hamasaki, who left the game with an injury five minutes into the second half. The already-depleted Swords also lost
Christina Saturnio to injury late in the game.
CUH attempted 15 shots, seven on goal. Ten of those shots came in the first half before the heat and humidity caught up to the team in the second half.
Lauren Ishii among the nation's leaders in saves, made seven stops.
Chaminade returns to the field for its penultimate contest of the season against Holy Names Thursday at 10:00 a.m. at St. Louis Field.
