OAKLAND, Calif. – The Chaminade University women's basketball team concluded their Bay Area road trip with a 65-54 win over Holy Names Saturday at Tobin Gym.

Shana Kawakami posted her first career double-double with 19 points and 10 rebounds, both career-highs, as the Silverswords improved to 3-11 overall and 3-7 in the Pacific West Conference.
Kristle Henry contributed with 15 points and six rebounds, hitting 5-for-8 from the floor, including 3-of-4 from 3-point range. Kawakami was also 8-for-12 from the field and had four assists.
Glacen Florita scored six points for Chaminade to give her 517 in her career, moving her past Simrin Herington into second in the program's all-time scoring list.
Hanna Curtius pulled down a career-best nine rebounds while
Carissa McBride had a season-best eight points.
Garysha Youngblood the Hawks (2-17, 1-10) with 15 points and 11 rebounds.
The Silverswords, who entered the road trip 0-50 lifetime on the Mainland, return to the islands with a split of their four-game trip.
Chaminade got off to a slow start, committing seven turnovers as the Hawks jumped out to a 13-7 lead seven minutes into the game. But the 'Swords rallied with Henry scoring five straight. After two Hawk free throws,
Lilia Maio hit a layup, followed by three
Kennedi Akana points gave Chaminade its first lead of the game at 17-15. The rally continued as Florita, Kawakami and Curtis each cashed in baskets.
In all, the Silverswords' run was 19-2 to take a 26-15 lead. During that eight-minute span, they didn't allow a field goal and forced 11 HNU turnovers. The run helped the 'Swords hold a 29-21 halftime lead.
Chaminade extended its advantage to 13 on several occasions to open the second half. After the Hawks got the deficit back down to seven, Akana hit a jumper, Kawakami drained a free throw and a layup to push Chaminade's lead back to double-digits for good at 46-35 midway through the second half. The 'Swords led by as many as 19 late in the game.
The Silverswords offset 26 turnovers with 27-of-55 shooting from the floor for 49.1 percent, their best of the season while holding the Hawks to 32.7 percent from the field (16-of-50). Chaminade also out-rebounded Holy Names, 41-33.
