st minute, gathering a pass from Natalie Gabriel and punching the ball in from 10 yards out.
The Urban Knights (4-4 overall, 3-0 PacWest) got an insurance goal 19 minutes later when a scrum towards the left corner of the net resulted in a Laney Haviland tap-in from point blank range.
After getting out-shot 8-0 in the first half, the Silverswords (1-5, 0-2) turned up the attack, taking 11 second-half shots with
Twyla Hamasaki attempting four shots and
Lauren Uehara two.
Lauren Ishii stopped six shots in absorbing the loss. Morgan Wirz got the win for ART U.
The 'Swords will look to snap their losing streak Saturday when they face Notre Dame de Namur at Saint Louis Field to end their season-opening seven-game home stand.
