HONOLULU – The Chaminade University women's soccer team has had some tough luck this season.
For the third time this year, the Silverswords found themselves on the other end of a 1-0 defeat, this time coming to Notre Dame de Namur Saturday at Saint Louis Field.
With just over five minutes remaining in regulation, Chaminade was called for a hand ball inside the box. Madison Meyer drilled the game-winning penalty kick to lift the Argonauts who improved to 2-6 overall and 2-2 in the Pacific West Conference.
Lauren Ishii made eight stops for the 'Swords who fell to 1-6 and 0-3. NDNU's Abigail Cebrero got the win.
Twyla Hamasaki took two of the Silverswords' four shots on the day with the others taken by
Caitlin Tatemichi and
Lauren Uehara.
Chaminade hits the road for the first time this season, making a visit to the PacWest's Southern California swing. The 'Swords will open the road trip Wednesday at No. 17 Azusa Pacific.
