AZUSA, Calif. – The Chaminade University men's soccer team opened the road portion of the Pacific West Conference schedule with a 5-0 loss to Azusa Pacific Thursday at the Cougar Soccer Complex.
For the fourth time this year, the Silverswords were victimized by an opponent's big second half as the Cougars scored all their goals in the game's final 37 minutes. Kaleb Armbrust had a foot in four of them with two goals while adding a pair of assists. The 'Swords have been outscored 19-2 in the second half this season.
Nicolas Ferro took four shots for Chaminade (0-7 overall, 0-4 PacWest), one of which was on goal.
Lukas Pousset took the other shot for the 'Swords.
Bernd Buescherhoff got the nod for the 'Swords at the net and made a career-high 10 saves in defeat. Tyler Jaramillo earned the win for Azusa Pacific, which improved to 2-4-2 on the year and 2-1-1 in the conference.
The Silverswords' road trip continues Saturday at new PacWest member Concordia.
