HILO, Hawai'i – The Chaminade University women's volleyball got an efficient attack as they swept Hawai'i Hilo 25-20, 25-21, 25-18 Monday at UH Hilo Gym.
The Silverswords hit .320 -- their second-highest hitting percentage of the year -- to improve to 9-8 overall and 3-5 in the Pacific West Conference.
Freshman
Emma Tecklenburg paced Chaminade by setting season-highs in kills (match-high 14) and percentage (.462).
Kim Spring added 12 kills and 13 digs to notch her third double-double of the season.
Cassie Rushlow and
Daisia LaBrie each put down seven kills for the Silverswords as the duo combined to hit .444 on the night (14 kills, two errors, 27 attempts).
Siera Green led the Vulcans (5-7, 3-4) with 11 kills while the 'Swords defense held UH Hilo's Marley Strand-Nicolaisen to nine kills, her second-lowest total of the season.
Waihilo Chartrand returned to her hometown and collected a match-high 15 digs while
Natashya Enos had 21 assists with
Hannah Baker adding 14.
The 'Swords totaled more kills (43-38), assists (41-31) and digs (56-40) on the night.
