Women’s Volleyball Sweeps Past Fresno Pacific

FRESNO, Calif. – The Chaminade University women's volleyball team opened their final road trip of the season with a 25-23, 25-21, 26-24 win over Fresno Pacific Saturday at the Special Event Center.
 
Making their first appearance in the Central Valley since 2013, the Silverswords got 10 kills and four service aces from Emma Tecklenburg and nine kills from Cassie Rushlow to improve to 15-11 overall and 9-8 in the Pacific West Conference.  The victory also insured a winning record for the 'Swords for the second straight year.
 
Kim Spring had eight kills for Chaminade, moving her past Hinano Warfield and her current head coach Kahala Kabalis Hoke into fourth in the program's all-time kills list with 1,081. Daisia LaBrie also had eight kills while Ku`ulei Lynch had six and Kira Long five.
 
Rushlow hit for a season-high .429 with no errors on 21 swings and Lynch hit .500 with no errors on 12 attacks.
 
LaBrie also recorded three total blocks, giving her 107 on the season, breaking the Chaminade single-season record that was previously held by Audrey Brady set in 2002. Lynch had five total blocks for the 'Swords while Rushlow and Long had three each.
 
Natashya Enos and Skyler Curry combined for 34 assists and 14 digs while Waihilo Chartrand tallied nine digs and eight assists. Spring had team-high 10 digs.
 
Chaminade hit .314 in the match including an impressive .354 (35-7-79) in Sets 2 and 3 combined as they won in Fresno for the first time ever.
 
Karah Mitchell led the Sunbirds (8-13, 6-11 PacWest) with a match-high 15 kills.
 
The Silverswords continue their road trip Saturday at Notre Dame de Namur.
