’Swords Suffers Tough Loss at Dominican

SAN RAFAEL, Calif. – The Chaminade University men's soccer team hit the road for their penultimate match of the season but suffered a heartbreaking 1-0 loss to Dominican University of California Thursday at Kennelly Field.

Luke Raley scored the game's lone goal with just 2:24 left to play to hand the Silverswords a late defeat for the second straight meeting between the two programs. Last year at Saint Louis Field DUC kicked in the winner with just 1:43 left.

Jaewon Huh and Yoshinori Tamukai had one shot on goal each for Chaminade, which fell to 5-8-1 overall and 5-6-1 in the Pacific West Conference.

Bernd Buescherhoff made four saves in taking the loss. Winning goalkeeper Christian Lathop had two stops for the Penguins (4-12-1, 4-7-1 PacWest).

The 'Swords will end the season Saturday at Notre Dame de Namur.
