BELMORT, Calif. – The Chaminade University women's soccer team ended the 2016 season with a 4-0 loss to Notre Dame de Namur Saturday at Koret Field.
The Argonauts got their first goal on a header from Alina Martinez on a Samantha Sanchez corner kick in the 21
st minute. In a mirror image, the duo did it again nine minutes later. NDNU added a third goal in the 39
th minute.
The Silverswords took 10 shots, seven on goal.
Caitlin Tatemichi took three shots, all on goal.
Lauren Uehara closed her CUH career with two shots, one being on target, while fellow senior
Jana Kakugawa had an SOG in her final game.
Kelli Fryxell took two shots while
Chelsie Delameter and
Cierra Toledo-Muragin each had one shot.
Brandee Lane made eight saves in taking the loss. Abigail Cebrero had six stops to earn the win for the Argos (7-9-2, 5-7-1 PacWest).
Chaminade, picked to finish last in the 14-team Pacific West Conference in the Preseason Coaches Poll, ended the year tied for 10
th with 13 points and a 4-8-1 conference mark, 4-11-1 overall. The four wins are a new single-single record both overall and in the conference.
