The Penguins scored the first four points of the second quarter but Babbitt's triple and a
Shana Kawakami layup reduced the deficit to six at 24-18. Dominican extended the lead back to 10 then the 'Swords got back-to-back-back triples from Babbitt,
Bobbi Montibon and
Sabrina Angle, putting them back into the game down 32-29 with four minutes left in the half. But DUC ended the half on a 13-4 run to put them up by 48-35..
Dominican's third quarter-opening 17-4 run put it up by 26 and quickly extinguished all thoughts of a possible 'Swords' rally.
Chaminade was held to just below 33 percent shooting from the floor while Dominican shot 52.2 percent. The 'Swords were out-rebounded 45-37 and committed 21 turnovers to DUC's 15. Ashley Sorenson also accounted for five of the Penguins' nine blocked shots.
