RIVERSIDE, Calif. – The Chaminade University women's soccer team was looking for one last shot for a victory over California Baptist but was denied by a 4-0 count Thursday at CBU Soccer Field in the final meeting between the two squads.
The Lancers scored four times in the first half, all coming in a 12-minute span midway through the period in the final meeting between the two programs which had been playing each other since 2012. CBU departs for the Division I ranks after this season.
Caitlin Tatemichi (Honolulu/Roosevelt) took two shots for the Silverswords while
Nicole Nishiki (Mililani, Hawai'i/Mililani) took another.
Brandee Lane (Kaneohe, Hawai'i/Castle) made five saves for Chaminade (3-7 overall, 2-5 PacWest).
Miranda Martinez scored twice while Sara Escobedo made one save for CBU (8-3, 6-0 PacWest).
The Silverswords conclude their road trip Saturday at conference newcomer Biola.
