IRVINE, Calif. – The Chaminade University men's soccer team opened a four-match road swing with a 4-0 setback to Concordia University Irvine Saturday at Eagles Soccer Field.
The Eagles struck early with three first-half goals to drop the Silverswords to 2-4-1 overall and 1-3-1 in the Pacific West Conference.
CUI improved to 6-3-1 and 5-1 on the year.
The 'Swords took 12 shots, seven on-goal with
Makoto Shoji (Okinawa, Japan/Rio Hondo College) attempting four shots with two on-goal and
Nick Kraus (Torrance, Calif./Torrance) taking two, both on-goal.
Jaewon Huh (Aiea, Hawai'i/Aiea),
Ruben Taks (Vught, The Netherlands/UNC Pembroke) and
Micah Mokulehua (Waimanalo, Hawai'i/Kaiser) each had on shot that was on target.
Bernd Buescherhoff (Steinfeld, Germany/Gymnasium Lohne) made four saves for Chaminade. William Whiddon had four for the Eagles.
The 'Swords will travel down the coast for a matchup at Point Loma on Monday.
