IRVINE, Calif. – The Chaminade University women's soccer team saw their two-match winning streak snapped Saturday to Concordia University Irvine, 4-0, at the Eagles Soccer Field.
Opening their four-match road swing through Southern California, the Silverswords were held to four shots as they fell to 3-5 overall and 2-3 in the Pacific West Conference.
The Eagles scored three times in the opening half as they improved to 5-4-1 and 4-2.
Nicole Nishiki (Mililani, Hawai'i/Mililani),
Bree Chang (Aloha, Ore./Aloha) and
Cami Keli'inui (Ewa Beach, Hawai'i/Kamehameha-Kapalama) each took one shot on-goal while reigning PacWest Player of the Week
Caitlin Tatemichi (Honolulu/Roosevelt) took another.
Brandee Lane (Kaneohe, Hawai'i/Castle) made 11 saves for Chaminade. Despite allowing the three goals in the first 45 minutes, she managed to stay the course, making 10 stops in facing 14 second-half shots.
Kaelyn Whitcomb and Darby Clements combined for the shutout win for CUI.
The 'Swords travel down the coast to face Point Loma on Monday.
