SAN DIEGO – The Chaminade University women's basketball team fell to Point Loma, 95-64, Thursday at Golden Gymnasium in the third game of their road trip
Kristle Henry had a team-high 19 points for the Silverswords followed by
Courtney Kaupu's 13 points while
Destiny Castro added 11 and eight rebounds. Kaupu also pulled down six rebounds and dished out five assists.
Chaminade dropped to 3-17 on the season and 3-13 in the Pacific West Conference while Point Loma improved to 18-3 and 12-2 in the conference.
Alex Brunk had a game-high 30 points and nine rebounds for the Sea Lions while Roya Rustamzada had 12 points and 10 boards.
Despite allowing a season-high 61 first-half points, the 'Swords managed to pick up the defensive pace, allowing PLNU to put up only 34 in the final 20 minutes. The Silverswords managed to show a lot of consistency, scoring 16 points in all four quarters.
Carissa Webb had nine points for Chaminade and moved into ninth in the program's all-time leading scoring list with 468 career points.
Lilia Maio added seven points and also had a block, tying her with
Kennedi Akana for the most blocked shots in team history with 71.
The Silverswords conclude their road trip Saturday at Dixie State.
