IRVINE, Calif. – The Chaminade University women's soccer team opened their only mainland road trip of the year with a 3-0 loss Saturday to Concordia Irvine at Eagles Soccer Field.
Naomi Takata (Honolulu/Pearl City) made 13 saves for Chaminade while
Cailla Fabro (Waipahu, O'ahu, Hawai'i/Idaho State/Pearl City HS) took the Silverswords' lone shot attempt of the afternoon.
The 'Swords allowed an early goal which came at the 11-minute mark but their defense held firm until right before halftime when the Eagles found the back of the net again.
Concordia (6-3-2, 4-0-1 PacWest) added another score nearly six minutes into the second half for the game's final margin.
It was the first time this season that Chaminade (1-4-3 overall, 1-3-1 PacWest) had lost to a foe by more than one goal.
The Silverswords will drive down the coast and face Point Loma in San Diego on Monday.
