MONMOUTH, Ore. – Chaminade University women's cross country runner
Alena Albertson (Austin, Texas/Cedar Park) competed against some of the top runners from the western United States in Saturday's NCAA West Regional at the Ash Creek Preserve.
Amid cool and brisk conditions with temperatures in the low 50s at the start time, the freshman who was competing as an individual completed the 6-kilometer race in 24:13.5, finishing 160th overall. Albertson logged her second-fastest 6-k time of the year.
Alaska Anchorage's Emmanuelah Chelimo was the West Regional individual champion at 20:22.4. Chico State won the West Region team title with 75 points.
