HONOLULU – The Chaminade University women's tennis team returned to action for the first time in three weeks as they took on the University of Tampa on Monday at the Ala Moana Tennis Courts.
The Silverswords dropped the match to the Spartans, 7-0.
Salamasina Te`i (Hau'ula, O'ahu, Hawai'i/Kahuku) and
Elyssa Shirai (Waipahu, O'ahu, Hawai'i/Pearl City) put together a competitive doubles match before falling to the Spartans' duo of Vanina Iordanova and Nicoline Palgren, 6-4, in the No. 2 spot.
In No. 1 singles,
Catrina Liner (Corvallis, Ore./Corvallis) took games in her match while
Cai Yan Fang (Zhongshan, China) did the same in No. 4 singles.
Chaminade is 0-5 on the season while Tampa improved to 6-2.
The 'Swords are next in action Saturday when they take on Mills College at Ala Moana with doubles action starting at noon.
