WAIMEA, Hawai'i – The Chaminade University women's tennis team ended its first weekend of the season Sunday by dropping a 7-0 decision to Hawai'i Hilo at the Fairmont Orchid Tennis Center.
The Silverswords (0-3) got another productive start to start the afternoon with
Catrina Liner (Corvallis, Ore./Corvallis) and
Kayleen Lau (Wailuku, Maui, Hawai'i/Kamehameha-Maui) in No. 1 doubles. The duo pushed the Vulcans' tandem of Carmelle Joyner and Anouk Van Hoek before falling 7-6 with the tiebreaker ending at 8-6.
UH Hilo (1-3) also won the remaining two doubles matches to earn the first point of the day.
