HONOLULU – The Chaminade University women's basketball team on Thursday fell to Walsh University of Ohio by a final of 87-32 at the Malika Sports O'ahu Thanksgiving Classic at the Hawai'i Pacific University Shark Tank.
Jordyn Zader (Mukwonago, Wis./Pius XI) led the Silverswords with eight points while
Michaella Dean (Irvine, Calif./Orange Lutheran) and
Sasha Phillip (Hau'ula, O'ahu, Hawai'i/Hawai'i Baptist Academy) had six each.
Dean added seven rebounds for the 'Swords (1-2) while
Dallas Martinez (Kaneohe, O'ahu, Hawai'i/Whittier College/Sacred Hearts Academy) dished out three assists.
Walsh, the preseason favorite to win the Great Midwest Athletic Conference, improved to 3-1. The Cavaliers hit 16 3-pointers on the afternoon with Abby Hickey leading Walsh with 14 points.
The Silverswords will host Dakota Wesleyan on Friday at McCabe Gymnasium. Tipoff is set for 2:30 p.m.
