SAN FRANCISCO – The Chaminade University men's soccer team continued their only mainland road trip of the season Thursday.
In cool and sometimes blustery conditions at Paul Goode Field, the Silverswords dropped a 4-0 decision to Academy of Art on their Senior Day.
The Urban Knights scored their first three goals during a 6-minute, 30-second span midway through the first half then made it stand the rest of the way.
The 'Swords fell to 3-9 overall and 1-7 in the Pacific West Conference.
Chaminade took a total of six shots with
Jamin Fonseca (Mililani, O'ahu, Hawai'i/Mililani) and
Joseph Wren (Kapolei, O'ahu, Hawai'i/Utah Valley University/Kapolei HS) each taking two chances at the net.
Four 'Swords field players played all 90 minutes including
Takahiro Kosins (Tokyo, Japan/Colorado Mesa Univeristy/Kalani, Hawai'i, HS),
Lono Kaialau (Waianae, O'ahu, Hawai'i/Damien), Zack McClellan (San Marcos, Calif./San Marcos) and
Lyric De Leon (Kapolei, O'ahu, Hawai'i/Grand Canyon University/Kapolei HS).
Brandon Yasue (Honolulu/Kaiser) made eight saves in taking the loss. Omer Tal earned the victory for the Urban Knights (1-12-1, 1-8 PacWest).
The Silverswords wrap up their Northern California road trip Saturday at Fresno Pacific.
