KOHALA COAST, Hawai'i – The Chaminade University women's tennis team wrapped up a busy Saturday with a rematch against the University of Hawai'i Hilo at the Fairmont Orchid Tennis Courts.

After dropping the morning match, the Silverswords couldn't salvage a split, falling to the Vulcans, 7-0, in the afternoon competition. It left the 'Swords at 0-6 on the year while UH Hilo improved to 7-5. The two programs have gotten very familiar with one another, having faced each other five times this season.

Chaminade's lineup in both singles and doubles remained the same as its morning match while UH Hilo made several tweaks in both.

The most significant was in No. 2 singles, where
Kayleen Lau (Wailuku, Maui, Hawai'i/Kamehameha-Maui) faced Hannah Highsmith. The sophomore nearly took Highsmith to the limit before dropping a close 7-5, 7-6 decision.

The match is likely the final tune-up for the Silverswords – barring any late scheduling additions – prior to their participation in the Pacific West Conference Championships, starting April 21 in Surprise, Ariz., the team's first tournament berth since 2012.
