HONOLULU – The Chaminade University women's basketball team on Monday fell to the University of Hawai'i Hilo, 75-28, at McCabe Gymnasium.
Ellyonna Bankofier (Happy Valley, Ore./Clackamas) led the Silverswords with six points while
Arianna Blowe (Monument, Colo./Lewis-Palmer) and
Paige Relph (Las Vegas/Waianae, Hawai'i, HS) both added five.
Lile Hina Oyama (Honolulu/Kalani) and
Jamia Bailey (Yokosuka, Japan/Yokota) each had four points, a season-high-tying mark for the latter.
Michaella Dean (Irvine, Calif./Orange Lutheran), the team's top rebounder, pulled down six boards and also had two of the 'Swords' five blocked shots, tying for the second highest this season. Relph also had a pair of swats while Bankofier had the other.
Mandi Kawaha led the Vulcans with 14 points.
Chaminade fell to 1-15 overall and 0-12 in the Pacific West Conference while UH Hilo improved to 9-7 and 6-6 in the conference. Wednesday's game was a makeup of the New Year's Day contest which was postponed due to UHH and conference health and safety protocols
The Silverswords will celebrate Senior Night on Friday when they face Hawai'i Pacific University at McCabe Gym. Tipoff has been moved up to 5:15 p.m. Bankofier, Bailey, Blowe, Dean and
Jenna McLean (Snohomish, Wash./Cal State Bakersfield/Glacier Peak HS) will be honored following the game.
