HONOLULU – The Chaminade University women's tennis team returned to action after a month-long layoff Monday, facing Bucknell University in an NCAA interdivisional matchup.
The Silverswords fared well against their Division I counterparts before falling, 4-0, at the Donald Andrews Diamond Head Tennis Courts.
In opening doubles action, Chaminade's No. 1 team of
Kayleen Lau (Wailuku, Maui, Hawai'i/Kamehameha-Maui) and
Salamasina Robertson (Hau'ula, O'ahu, Hawai'i/Kahuku) took the Bisons' top duo of Daniela Bellini and Anna Lajos to 5-4 score before the match was halted after doubles 2 and 3 were completed.
In singles, Bucknell won the necessary three singles matches to complete match victory while Lau, Robertson and
Marisa Luna (Kahului, Maui, Hawai'i/Maui) each had their matches unfinished.
The 'Swords will return to action on Friday, March 25 against another Division I opponent, UC Riverside at the Diamond Head Tennis Center.
