HONOLULU – The Chaminade University men's soccer team returned to action Monday with a 5-0 defeat to Azusa Pacific at McCabe Gymnasium.
The Silverswords got a game-high four shots from
Kayden Medeiros (Pukalani, Maui, Hawai'i/Western Oregon Univ./Kamehameha-Maui HS), who came off the bench. Two of them were on-goal.
Four other 'Swords took one chance at the net with
Kainoa Carpenter's (Kahului, Maui, Hawai'i/Kamehameha-Maui) try being on target.
Ryan Anderson (Carlsbad, Calif./Cal State Monterey Bay/San Marcos HS),
Owen Caba (West Linn, Ore./West Linn) and
Kala'i Duncan (Kapolei, O'ahu, Hawai'i/Kamehameha-Kapalama) also had a shot.
Brandon Yasue (Honolulu/Kaiser) made seven saves for Chaminade.
Mario Shuteriqi had two goals and an assist for the Cougars who improved to 5-7-2 and 4-3-0 in the Pacific West Conference.
The Silverswords (0-10-3, 0-6-2 PacWest) return to action Thursday against Concordia University Irvine at Saint Louis Field.
