HONOLULU – The Chaminade University women's tennis team returned to action for the first time in over a month on Wednesday, dropping a 7-0 decision to Division I CSUN (formerly known as Cal State Northridge) at the Donald Andrews Diamond Head Tennis Courts.
For the first time this season,
Molly Cookman (Racine, Wis./Prairie) assumed the No. 1 spot in singles in dropping her match, 6-1, 6-0 to Emma Moratalla Sanz.
The Matadors (12-2) took two doubles matches to capture the doubles point while the top doubles match was left unfinished.
Berylin Lau (Wailuku, Maui, Hawai'i/Kamehameha-Maui) and
Sydney Danielson (Prior Lake, Minn./Prior Lake were able to take games off their opponents in No. 3 and 4 singles, respectively.
The Silverswords (0-4) are next in action on Friday when they face William Jessup at the Dominican University of California campus in San Rafael, California, as a part of a four-match road trip to Northern California. The trip marks the team's first regular season venture to the mainland since 2014.
